A Different Viewpoint
In response to blog post prompt number four, I saw the Crucible in a different way by seeing it live.
Seeing the stage
come to life with the characters in their costumes, how certain scenes were put
together by the layout of the set, and the traits that the actor saw in their
character. In my high school English class we had read the Crucible, so I was
somewhat familiar with the play, but I had never seen the play live. I enjoyed seeing the play from a new
perspective because watching it live was different than simply reading the
play. There are certain details where it easier to understand by watching it
live than from reading it. It was interesting to see different scenes to the
play and how they set it up. I liked seeing the stage put together because it
helped to set the time period and place. In John Proctors house you could see
that they did not have much by the way their house looked and the clothes that
they had worn. I got a better
understanding of emotions for the different characters because you could see
the emotions they are portraying rather then reading them. It was interesting
to see how the actors depicted their character in certain situations in the
play. Before I went to the play I was
curious to see if they were going to condense any scenes in a way that would
possibly leave things out. I noticed that they did not miss anything that was
not important to the main points to the play.
Seeing the play live gave me a different perspective on the details in
the characters, scenes, and emotions that the play represents. In response to blog post prompt number four, I saw the Crucible in a different way by seeing it live.

Very interesting response. I greatly agree with also having a easier time understanding and perceiving when the crucible was being acted out then reading from the script itself.
